This post is an adjunct to an earlier one — The Greek Community of Jerusalem: A Presentation — published on 28 November 2025. The original post was about a live presentation I gave in Cyprus earlier in the year on the topic of The Greek Community of Jerusalem until 1948 (Nakba and Diaspora). The post included a link to the recording of the presentation (a YouTube video).

As the presentation was in Greek, many of my primarily English-speaking audience were disappointed and so I had contemplated a translation. Following a more recent request about information on the Greeks of Jerusalem pre-Nakba, I decided to finally get to it.
I recruited Claude (AI) to provide a first draft of the translation which I subsequently edited. The resulting document includes the original slides as images, with translations in the captions, and my presenter notes (which I had read out) in the main text. As an extra bonus, I added links to the text to reference some of my older blog posts, locations on the Jerusalem, We Are Here live map as well as other relevant websites.
In my presentation I included three short film clips. In order to make them available in the document, I have provided a link in the caption of each slide to the corresponding place in the YouTube video.
The final product can be viewed in this Google document.
I hope you find it interesting. I welcome your comments. ❖
